We are honored to collaborate with local farmers, community educators, organizations and businesses to host numerous workshops this year. We offer many other opportunities to learn and build community through our co-leadership in the KC F.A.R.M.E.R.S Coalition and Let’s Grow Wyandotte! Quell-Davis Community Greenhouse
We believe in the power of hands-on education to build resilient communities and sustainable futures.
Our 6th Annual Community Workshop will bring together individuals of all ages to explore the skills, knowledge, and connections that foster self-reliance and environmental stewardship.
Topics include: Fermentation, Raising and Caring for Chickens, Native Plants, Year-Round Orchard Care, Fermenting, Fire Cider, and Raising Rabbits for Meat. We'll have information about Monarch butterflies and about backyard composting. We'll wrap the day up with a garlic planting lesson and cooperative garlic planting with Farmer Nate.
Park at Common Ground: 2443 South 42nd St, Kansas City, Kansas, 66106 and walk west to the greenhouse.
Important details:
Potluck: informal communal meal where each invited guest brings a shared dish - such as an appetizer, main course, side, or dessert- to share with the group. You don't need to bring enough for everyone individually, just something to share some.
Please wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather.
